Supporting aspiring accountants
Boyce Chartered Accountants is committed to promoting opportunities for aspiring young accountants. We have a particular interest in encouraging students who wish to have a fulfilling and rewarding career whilst remaining in regional Australia.
Our commitment is demonstrated through our support of two different programs.
- Tony Quirk UNE Business School Accounting Program
Boyce, in conjunction with the University of New England (UNE) Business School, have developed a program to provide Bachelor of Accounting students with a scholarship and a clearly defined career path.
The program is in memory of Tony Quirk, a former Boyce Director who studied at UNE prior to joining our Moree branch in 1991. Tony was appointed as a Director of the firm at age 27 – the youngest person ever to be elevated to this position. Tragically, Tony passed away in February 2005 at the age of 34.
The program will provide prospective and current UNE Business School students with work placements, financial support, and post-graduate career opportunities.
Successful candidates will receive:
- Paid vacation placement opportunities during university holidays providing practical, on the job experience, and exposure to a range of clients across diverse industry sectors.
- Structured learning and development.
- Full time employment as a graduate accountant in the Boyce Graduate Program following completion of studies.
- A $500 text-book allowance during your first year of study.
- A scholarship of $2,000 during your second and third year of study.
The UNE Business School will provide students with a program of study that is compliant with the CA and/or CPA entry requirements through its Bachelor of Accounting Degree. Admission to the UNE Business School is subject to the normal entry requirements of UNE.
If you are a UNE Business School student, or considering studying accounting at UNE, we invite you to apply. Please click on the below 'Submit Application Here' button and complete the form.

- Boyce Dubbo Accounting Scholarship
The Dubbo office of the firm established this scholarship in 2005 in conjunction with the Charles Sturt Foundation for a first year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree at the Dubbo campus of Charles Sturt University (CSU).
The scholarship is offered annually and provides a financial incentive of $1,500 to $2,500.
The successful applicant is required to undertake work experience with Boyce Dubbo during mid and end of year semester breaks. Further details can be obtained from the CSU website here.
See our Facebook page for details of past recipients of the Boyce Dubbo CSU Scholarship.
"Being successful in gaining a scholarship will alleviate some of the financial burden that comes with being a university student. The foundation of any successful career is having clear goals and skills that are in demand. Accounting was my goal during my higher school certificate. After my HSC I was successful in being employed as a Cadet Accountant which has been a very worthwhile experience. Whilst studying I have been able to get the practical experience in the day to day operations at Boyce Chartered Accountants."
Curty Stoddard, CSU Foundation Trust Scholarship winner, 2016.
